The processing of Sheepskin Rug... its a very delicate and lengthy process and requires experience and skills to ensure the the sheepskin is not ruined in the process.
Before:
Processing stage involves
- Wash: washing the sheepskin with a mix of chemical that is both soft enough to not ruin the leather and yet strong enough to ensure the sheepskin is clean.
- Rinse: The sheepskin is then rinse 4 times before it heads to the dryer.
- Drying: Leathers are generally sensitive to water, so the drying part is the most tedious part. It takes more than just shoving the sheepskin into the dryer and let the dryer do its magic. It involves timing the dryer to a specific time and airing the sheepskin with a specific time interval. and these steps are repeated over and over again until the sheepskin is mostly dry. It is then left to be aired out overnight.
- Restore: Restoration takes a long time. The fur of the sheepskin needs to be restored properly to bring it back to its original fluffiness. The leather on the back needs to be massaged to restore its the leather's softness.
AFTER all that trouble, this is the final product that looks pretty good!!
